Why Choose Royal CynarArt®
Nature's Excellence, Delivered with Integrity
Royal CynarArt®-Mediterranean Premium Source
Grown under Mediterranean sunshine, our artichokes, certified with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) from France, accumulate rich polyphenols and flavonoids through seasonal cycles. Their unique environment and traditional cultivation methods yield high levels of cynarin, delivering potent liver-cleansing and digestive benefits. France’s stringent agricultural standards and PDO certification ensure the purity and efficacy of each artichoke, providing natural vitality for beauty and liver health.
Royal CynarArt®-Rich in artichoke acid
HPLC analysis comparing our Royal CynarArt® with Chinses artichoke extract reveals that our sample is rich in dicaffeoylquinic acids, including cynarin (1,3-dicaffeoylquinic acid) and 1,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid, with a diverse range of polyphenols and a complex chromatogram, indicating higher functional activity. In contrast, standard artichoke extract lacks cynarin peaks, primarily containing monocaffeoylquinic acids with simpler components. Cultivated under Mediterranean sunshine with seasonal cycles, our artichokes accumulate abundant polyphenols and flavonoids. This unique environment and traditional cultivation methods yield high cynarin levels, delivering significant liver-cleansing and digestive benefits.
Royal CynarArt®-liver protection function
Artichoke extract demonstrates significant hepatoprotective effects through multiple mechanisms. Studies show it effectively reduces plasma ALT, AST, and ALP enzyme activities in carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced liver injury rats, mitigating hepatocyte membrane damage and promoting tissue repair. Additionally, it markedly enhances superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and glutathione (GSH) levels, bolstering antioxidant defense, and suppresses lipid peroxidation products (TBARS), alleviating oxidative stress on the liver. Its hepatoprotective mechanisms are primarily attributed to polyphenol compounds (e.g., chlorogenic acid), which provide antioxidant benefits by neutralizing free radicals, regulating liver enzyme activity, and maintaining cell membrane stability for comprehensive protection. Experiments confirm that a 1.5 g/kg dose of artichoke extract offers optimal efficacy and good safety, providing a strong basis for developing natural liver-protective agents.
Pic 1 and Pic 2 show:
The results show that ALT and AST activities in the CCl group (Negative Control) were significantly higher than in the Control group, while activities in the pretreatment group (I–II) and regeneration groups (IV–VI) were significantly reduced. Artichoke extract significantly lowered plasma ALT and AST activities in CCl-induced liver injury rats, indicating its role in reducing hepatocyte membrane damage and promoting liver repair.
Pic 3 and Pic 4 show:
The results show that GSH levels in the CCl group were reduced, while the high-dose pretreatment group (I) restored GSH levels to those of the control group. Artichoke extract pretreatment (1.5 g/kg) significantly restored plasma glutathione (GSH) levels, enhancing the antioxidant defense capacity of hepatocytes.
Pic 5 and Pic 6 show:
The results show that SOD activity in the CCl group was significantly reduced, while the pretreatment group (I–II) restored SOD activity to near control group levels. Figure 7C indicates that SOD activity in liver homogenates of the regeneration groups (IV–VI) significantly increased. Artichoke extract enhances the body’s free radical scavenging capacity by increasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity.
Pic 7 and Pic 8 show:
The results show that TBARS levels in the CCl group were significantly elevated, while the regeneration groups (IV–VI) exhibited significantly reduced TBARS levels. Artichoke extract significantly lowers lipid peroxidation products (TBARS) in CCl-induced models, indicating its role in inhibiting oxidative damage.
Pic 9 show:
The results show that ALP activity in the CCl group was elevated, while the pretreatment group (I) exhibited significantly reduced ALP activity. Artichoke extract (1.0 g/kg) significantly lowers alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity, improving bile secretion function.
Royal CynarArt®-Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects
Results show that artichoke extract significantly enhances free radical scavenging capacity. In DPPH and ABTS assays, its antioxidant activity was over 10 times higher than the control group, with superior effects when combined with sourdough. In vitro cell studies revealed that metabolites of artichoke extract fermented by gut microbiota improved the viability of human keratinocytes under oxidative stress, with 42-hour fermentation products showing the most pronounced protective effects. Regarding anti-inflammatory properties, artichoke extract combined with sourdough fermentation broth significantly reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1β) in Caco-2 cells, approaching normal cell levels. The study indicates that polyphenolic compounds in artichoke extract drive its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory potential, further enhanced by synergy with sourdough, providing a scientific basis for functional food development.
Pic 1 and Pic 2 show:
The fermentation product of bread containing artichoke leaf extract can enhance the viability of human keratinocytes under oxidative stress, and the effect is more obvious after 42 hours of fermentation.
Pic 3 show:
Artichoke leaf extract significantly enhances the antioxidant capacity of bread, with DPPH and ABTS values in the added group far exceeding those of the non-added group. The combination of sourdough and artichoke extract yields even superior results.
Pic 4 show:
Bread fermentation broth containing artichoke leaf extract and sourdough significantly reduces the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-1β, with anti-inflammatory effects approaching normal levels.
Royal CynarArt®-The Safety of Black Ginger
Internationally Recognized Safety
Germany’s Commission E has listed artichoke leaf extract as a recommended treatment for high cholesterol and liver and gallbladder support. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has confirmed its safety as a dietary supplement, and the U.S. NIH database also recognizes its low toxicity. Multiple authoritative evaluations jointly validate that artichoke extract is safe and reliable when used within recommended dosages, providing strong assurance for its use in health supplementation.
Clinically Proven Safety and Tolerability
A study published in Phytomedicine showed that among 108 patients with high cholesterol, daily intake of 1,800 mg of dry artichoke leaf extract over 12 weeks resulted in only mild gastrointestinal discomfort, with no serious adverse effects. Scientific data confirm its good tolerability, providing a reliable reference for safe daily supplementation.
Scientific Guidelines for Use
Organizations such as the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and France’s ANSES have established clear usage guidelines: adults should limit their intake of dry artichoke leaf extract to no more than 600 mg per day. They also advise caution for individuals with bile duct obstruction, liver or gallbladder diseases, and for pregnant women. International safety recommendations help define proper usage boundaries, ensuring that the natural benefits of artichoke extract are safely and effectively realized.
